Dog Walking & Training FAQs
Serving Innaloo, Doubleview, Gwelup, Stirling, Dianella, Tuart Hill, Osborne Park & Wembley Downs
How do your group dog walks work?
My group walks are carefully structured to be safe, calm, and enriching.
We start with a meet and greet to assess your dog’s temperament, energy level, and walking skills. From there, your dog is matched with a compatible group.
I pick your dog up from your home, take them to a suitable local park, and provide a full one-hour walk focused on social skills & calm behaviour. After the walk, your dog is dropped home happy and tired.
How many dogs are in each group walk?
I keep group sizes small (4-6) and balanced to ensure safety and quality attention. Dogs are grouped based on size, energy, and personality, not just availability.
Is my dog suitable for group walks?
Most dogs are, but that’s exactly why I do a meet and greet first.
Group walks are best for dogs that are:
-
Comfortable around other dogs
-
Not aggressive or highly reactive
-
Able to walk off the leash, or lead trained
If group walks aren’t the right fit, I often recommend 1:1 walk and train sessions instead.
What is a Walk & Train session?
A Walk & Train is a one-on-one training session done during a real walk in the outside world.
I pick your dog up from your home and work on practical skills such as:
-
Loose leash walking
-
Calm behaviour around dogs and people
-
Engagement and focus
-
Confidence building
It’s ideal for dogs who need training but struggle in group classes or busy settings.
Why choose Walk & Train instead of traditional training classes?
Walk & Train sessions are:
-
Less stressful for dogs
-
Done in real-life environments
-
Perfect for busy owners
-
Great for dogs that shut down in group classes
Because the training happens during a walk, dogs learn skills in the exact situations they need them most.
What behaviours can you help with during Walk & Train?
Walk & Train sessions are especially effective for:
-
Pulling on the leash
-
Overexcitement on walks
-
Recall training
-
Poor focus around distractions
-
Basic obedience while walking
They’re practical, realistic, and tailored to your dog.
Will I be involved in the training?
Yes, I always give you feedback and guidance so you can maintain the training between sessions.
Do you offer loose leash walking training?
Yes. Loose leash walking is one of my most popular training focuses.
I teach dogs how to walk calmly without pulling, using clear communication and consistency during real walks.
Do you offer puppy training?
Absolutely. Puppy training focuses on:
-
Confidence building
-
Good walking habits early
-
Basic manners
-
Calm behaviour around people and dogs
Starting early makes a huge difference long-term.
